"The lack of sleep accelerates dramatically the ageing process. That’s why I believe melatonin is a particularly useful anti-ageing supplement because it can help people get the sleep they need to stay healthy."

How many nights did you spend this month, turning in bed? How many nights did you watch the clock, being unable to fall asleep? The feeling that sleep slips through your fingers is probably one of the most unpleasant ones. Even if this happens quite rarely or even incidentally, it affects your body. Most often it manifests itself in the feeling of fatigue and daytime sleepiness. But insufficient sleep may have other consequences too. It may just be the reason for your frequent mood swings, the inability to handle specific situations, your concentration difficulties or apathy. And here we will say something you probably don’t know: the lack of sleep is sometimes to blame for your inability to lose weight, because exactly during sleep the body produces the hormone leptin which suppresses appetite.

These are just a few of the reasons why you should try to have a sound sleep every night. And melatonin is a wonderful means to this end.

Here is some additional useful information about melatonin and its uses:

Melatonin is a hormone found naturally in the body, while the melatonin which is used as a medicine is usually synthesized artificially in the lab. It is usually sold in the form of tablets or pills, which can be dissolved under the tongue so that melatonin is absorbed quicker from the body.

Melatonin is one of the most modern and reliable means to regulate the body’s internal clock. It successfully treats insomnia, caused by various factors – hyperactivity, stress, sleep problems in children with development disorders etc. Melatonin is also used as an aid in people who undergo therapy to quit smoking or using drugs since during such periods the body is subjected to much greater stress than usual. Melatonin is especially useful for people who work night shifts and need additional help to go to sleep. It could also be useful to people with impaired vision who have difficulties sometimes in distinguishing between the daytime and nighttime cycle.
